I’m very excited to join Another Weasley Along. I’m starting with a Weasley Sweater for the Boy. It’ll be my first sweater ever, and seems like the perfect place to start. If it goes well, Ihope to make one for myself. If that goes well, I can make one for the Rock Star, too. I decided not to buy yarn for all three at once, cuz that amounted to $247.00 and that’s a big investment. I’ll just see how they go. I’m very excited. The yarn is on its way!!!
Other HP projects I’m excited about are the Hermione Hat and Mittens. I’ll be ordering the pattern for these very soon. I’ll prolly do them in Ravenclaw colors, though. Unfortunately the Gryffindor house colors are very close to those of the University of Minnesota and everyone around here mistakes me for a rabid Gophers fan, when in fact, I’m a rabid Harry Potter fan. Silly, but it bugs me. Plus it’s an excuse to make another scarf. I loved that project and it’s perfect for mindless knitting times.
Since I don’t have any progress pics for my first Weasley, I’ll just post the pics from when I knitted my Gryffindor colored Scarf and Wizard Winter hat. My first knitting projects ever. I wear them every day and love them to bits!!

Well, it’s not really a saga yet. Last night I spent the evening working on the Pink Sock heel. I tried out the Garter Stitch Short Row heel found here. I’m not sure yet if I’ll like the garter stitchiness of it. But I definately don’t like the huge gap that happened after I started knitting around. I spent part of today unknitting back to the gap and am going to try to fix it. I think the problem came when the pattern says to “When you are back up to the original 50% of stitches devoted to the heel, knit two extra rows, wrapping the first and last stich of the instep. This will help avoid gaps when you begin working in rounds again.”. I’ll unknit those two rows and try it again and see how it goes. Even though I’m not sure I like the look of the garter stitch heel, it seems very cushy. Prolly very comfortable. No picture.
I bought this fabu pink yarn from ebay and I love it. It knits up so soft and the fabric is very firm. I’m doing it on 2 circs (size 2) with the Fluted Banister pattern I got from the Six Sock Knit-a-long. I’ve modified it to go Toe up. Don’t exactly know what I’ll do when I get to the heel.

This is the Nostepinde the Rock Star gave me for xmas. I love it!! There’s also a picture of the lovely center pull yarn balls I can wind with it. These yarn balls are so beautiful, they’re sitting on my desk and whenever I look at them I go, “ahhhhhh….” and feel all gushy inside. Wierd, huh?

These beautiful blues were also purchased from ebay and are destined to be socks someday. So beautiful. I couldn’t take a pic that did the colors justice.

And as if knitting isn’t enuf of an addiction, I’ve decided to try spinning. I got a spindle and some wool. Gotta love Ebay. Have had zero success with this. I’m going to try to contact some local spindlers and ask if anyone is willing to give me a demonstration and a few pointers. Here’s my wool and spindle. Someday it’ll be something…

Hi there. I’m back. Long time no blog. I’ve started knitting again and that means I read a lot of knitting blogs and that means I get the urge to blog again. So I’m gonna try to get this MT deal tuned up for the moment. Can’t turn on comments. Sorry. I had to turn them off a couple months ago, cuz I was spending half an hour a day clearing out the damn spam. Spam fuckers. Hate them!!! Anyhow, I’ll post like this for a bit and if you want to comment you can email me at “theprocrastinatrix at mn dot rr dot com”. If you know how to find this blog, you know how to turn that into a usable email addy.
the Boy is 16 months old in 4 days. He’s walking, running, and has a few words now. Unbearably cute and bright. This is from Christmas Eve:

the Rock Star is working on a couple different contracts outside the house. Most of his real work is keeping me from falling apart completely. He’s a saint.
I’m alive and doing ok. I ended up going on anti-depressants a couple months ago. My father dieing unexpectedly in April was the culmination of many months worth of crap and I finally couldn’t take it anymore. I was barely functional, but through the magic of the pretty pink pills, I’m feeling better now. But get this. I totalled another Subaru day before yesterday. It was a little over a year ago that the guy rear ended me. This time a woman went through a red light and smashed the crap out of the front end of the Suby we bought to replace the last one. I was alone in the car, which is a blessing, cuz this was a much worse accident than the last one. My seatbelt kept me from being injured to badly, but didn’t stop my head from conking pretty hard into the door. I had a CAT scan and xrays and everything’s ok. I’m just very sore. Happy fuckin’ new year.
